Network
Welcome adventurer! You must be tired, take a seat! This is the world of Elmoreden, you must have heard of it, right? If not, don't worry, that's my job. I'm Apocalypso and I'll be your guide to help you choose which class is most suitable to start your adventure in these lands! To begin with, we can separate the possible classes to choose from according to 2 criteria: The character's Race and the character's Role within a group. Let's first take a look at the different races that exist here. Races of Lineage 2 Essence In the current version of the game (High Elf update), we have a total of 8 races to choose from, each with their strengths and weaknesses but with characteristics that define each character: Humans: Humans are the most diverse and capable of all races. They have the most balanced stats and the widest selection of available classes. Although humans were created by Gran Kain, they worship Einhasad, the Goddess of Light. Elves: Elves were born of water, making them swift, agile, and infused with good magic. Deeply in tune with the forces of nature, they worship Eva, the second goddess of water. They excel in beneficial magic, archery, and above all singing. Dark Elves: Dark Elves were part of the Elf tribe but were expelled after they learned dark magic in order to gain power to fight against Humans. They possess much more power than humans but very little defense and speed. Orcs: Orcs are the race of fire. Among all races, they possess the greatest physical strength, with high levels of HP and MP, but they have slow movement speed, attack speed, and spell casting speed. Dwarves: Dwarves are the race of earth. They excel in crafting, resource gathering, and heavy combat. Their dexterity and great physical strength allow them to take on multiple enemies at once. Kamael: Kamaels were created by the Giants as living combat weapons. They are extremely fast and powerful, using the souls of their enemies to enhance their abilities. Sylphs: Wind race, as messengers of the giants they are extremely agile and fast. They use firearms. High Elves: A new race, they are the original elves born from the mother tree, they use elements and their abilities are varied, although mostly ranged. Differences on each Race The table below clearly demonstrates the difference in characteristics between classes, and also shows the features of classes within each race. But first, you need to clarify what their characteristics affect: STR - affects the physical attack INT - affects the magic attack DEX - affects attack speed, physical accuracy and evasion, chance of physical critical attacks WIT - affects the speed of magic, magical accuracy and evasion, chance of magical critical attacks CON - affects the maximum amount of HP and CP, weight limit, lung volume, chance of the block by shield MEN - affects the magic protection, the maximum amount of MP, the chance of canceling magic. Basic Features Race Archetype STR DEX CON INT WIT MEN Humans Warrior 40 30 43 21 11 25 Magician 22 21 27 41 20 39 Death Knigh 40 34 41 20 10 25 Assassin 41 38 38 15 10 8 Warrior 36 35 36 23 14 26 Light Elves Magician 21 24 25 37 23 40 Death Knight 40 35 40 20 10 25 Warrior 41 34 32 25 12 26 Dark Elves Magician 23 23 24 44 18 37 Death Knight 41 34 40 20 10 25 Assassin 41 38 38 15 10 28 Warrior 40 26 47 25 12 26 Orcs Wizard 27 24 31 31 15 42 Vanguard 40 30 35 15 10 30 Dwarves Warrior 39 29 45 20 10 27 Kamael Warrior 41 35 27 25 20 22 Sylph Warrior 40 35 40 20 10 25 High Elves Magician 20 15 25 45 25 40 Warrior 38 27 45 20 20 20 Classification by Role As we've noted the differences between the races and the differences between each of the different "sub-races," for the sake of classification, it's simpler to separate all existing classes according to the role they fulfill. Among these classes, we can distinguish: Tanks They are the classic armored knights, ready to raise their shield to protect their allies. Tanks possess a vast array of protective skills, both active and passive, like the "aggression" ability to divert enemies' attention towards them while their allies fulfill their functions. The use of shields and their high defensive power, along with a large number of survival skills, allow them to withstand enemy attacks for a long time. At the same time, tanks have weak attacks, usually lack ranged abilities, and their speed is usually among the lowest compared to other melee characters. They often depend on damage-dealing characters in their group to level up more efficiently. Tanks are quite useful in PVP, especially in group battles, as well as in farming difficult PVE areas. Equipment: Heavy armor 1-handed sword or 1-handed blunt weapon Shield Tank Professions: Phoenix Knight (human), Dark Avenger (human), Eva Templar (elf), Shillen Templar (dark elf). Healers In all versions of Lineage 2 and in any chronicle, the healer class is the most important and valuable profession, as a good healer can change the outcome of any battle. The healer's most important task is to restore the health of allies (HP), overlay positive protective spells, resurrect other characters in case of death, as well as suppress enemy aggression and apply negative effects on them. While their main role is healing, in L2 Essence, the healer class has received many attack and enhancement abilities, allowing them to solo monsters easily, and in 1vs1 PVP, they can pose a threat to almost any class. Equipment: Robe armor Single-handed magical swords, 1-handed magical staff, 2-handed magical staff Sigil or Shield (only with a 1-handed weapon) Healer Professions: Cardinal (human), Elven Elder (elf), Shillen Elder (dark elf). Buffers Buffers are a class with different auxiliary abilities to enhance the skills of an allied group. In Essence, the "Buff" system has been completely redesigned, and now all enhancement spells are only available to the buffer itself, empowering it in monster hunting and PVP. However, they can still use some of them on their allies. Equipment: Heavy, Light, and Robe armor; 1-handed magical sword, 1-handed magical blunt weapon, 2-handed magical blunt weapon, 2-handed swords, 1-handed warrior sword Sigil or shield (in case of a 1-handed weapon, especially in warrior-type classes) Buffer Professions: Hierophant (human), Sword Muse (elf), Spectral Dancer (dark elf), Dominator (orc), Doomcryer (orc), Let's pause here, there remains to discuss a rather extensive group of classes, the Damage Dealers (DDs), whose main role is to inflict damage, and which can be divided into several types: Close Combat Warriors, Long-Range Warriors, and Mages. Close Combat Warriors Close combat warriors are the stars of melee combat, their damage is absurd, their attack speed and mobility are unbeatable, and they are indispensable in a good party in need of DDs. They have high health, defense, and are quite balanced, both for PVP and PVE. Some have abilities for swift approach, while others deal heavy blows or can overwhelm a large number of enemies simultaneously. Equipment: Light and Heavy armor Single-handed swords, dual swords, ancient two-handed swords, spears, 1-handed and 2-handed blunts Sigil or shield Close Combat Warrior Professions: Dreadnought (human), Duelist (human), Hierophant (human), Titan (orc), Grand Khavatari (orc), Vanguard (orc), Fortune Seeker (dwarf), Maestro (dwarf), Doombringer (kamael). Rogues Rogues are a group of melee warriors specialized in rapid and lethal attacks. Due to their agility, they have high evasion rates, attack speed, and movement, but at the same time, they have very low defense and health, leaving them vulnerable in PVP. The main task of the rogue is to inflict maximum damage in the shortest time possible, before giving the enemy time to respond. For this purpose, they have a set of skills that make them invisible or increase their evasion. Equipment: Light armor Daggers Sigil Rogue Professions: Adventurer (human), Wind Rider (elf), Ghost Hunter (dark elf). Ranged Warriors Archers - a very popular class in almost all updates of Lineage 2, and Essence was no exception, especially because in the Seven Signs update, they received new abilities and mechanics, allowing them to inflict even more damage from a long distance and use combined skills. Archers are fast, have great evasion, but in return, they have weak defense and few hit points, so the main tactic of archers is to stay as far away from the enemy as possible. Storm Blaster: we should also include here the snipers of the game, the Sylphs, who, while they can fight at medium and short distances, shine in long-distance combat. Equipment: Light armor; Bow, Pistols Sigil Ranged Warrior Professions Sagittarius (human), Moonlight Sentinel (elf), Ghost Sentinel (dark elf), Trickster (kamael), Storm Blaster (sylph). Wizards Mages are long-range battle warriors who use a vast arsenal of magical abilities for hunting and PVP. According to the game's lore, each race of wizards possesses a certain element. For example, light elves use water magic, and dark elves use wind. But fundamentally, there is no difference between the elements, as the differences are merely aesthetic. Mages have several debuffs that block or weaken the enemy in some way, and they can even use protective abilities at the expense of their own MP. The biggest disadvantage of wizards is their low defense and health, their high MP consumption, and their low movement capacity. Equipment: Robe armor; Single-handed magical sword, 1-handed magical blunt weapon, 2-handed magical blunt weapon, Rapier Sigil Wizard Professions: Archmage (human), Soul Taker (human), Mystic Muse (elf), Storm Screamer (dark elf), Soul Hound (kamael). Summoners This is the name used to call the magical class of mages who summon. Their main mechanic is to summon a creature to fight for them. Summoners usually have the same disadvantage as wizards: low defense and health, high MP consumption, and low movement capacity. Equipment: Robe armor; Single-handed magical sword, 1-handed magical blunt weapon, 2-handed magical blunt weapon Sigil Summoner Professions: Arcana Lord (human), Elemental Master (elf), Spectral Master (dark elf). Death Knight The DK is one of the strongest classes in the world of Lineage 2 Essence. It can deal with both nearby and distant enemies equally, and can approach at great speed as well. The DK has enormous physical damage, a large number of control abilities, and a unique survival mechanic: when it receives mortal damage, it receives immortality for a time, which makes it possible to change the outcome of the battle. The DK has many skills that are aimed at exerting various blows, allowing it to hunt even faster and more efficiently. DKs can be humans, elves, or dark elves, broadly they are very similar, although each race has its characteristic differences. Equipment: Heavy armor 1-handed sword Shield Death Knight Professions: Death Knight (human), Death Knight (elf), Death Knight (dark elf). Assassin A completely unique class in the world of Lineage 2 Essence, with a special skill mechanic that allows it to assassinate multiple targets quickly and efficiently, whether in PVE or PVP. It has incredible mobility, which literally leaves no opportunity for counterattacks. Almost all Assassin skills can cause ranged damage. Their passive abilities increase already considerable physical power indicators. Assassin, like the DK, is a formidable opponent for almost all other classes in the game, although where it really shines is in PVE farming or in massive PVPs. This class can be chosen by male or female elves and dark elves, with a set of skills and characteristics completely identical. Equipment: Light armor; Dagger Sigil Assassins are available in the following races: Assassin (human), Assassin (dark elf). High Elf High elves are the new class added to the game, they have elemental damage and many beneficial abilities for both PVP and PVE. Choosing a woman will give you access to the Weaver, while choosing a man will allow you to use the Templar class. The Weaver is a mage, attacks at a distance with single-target and multi-target abilities, has complex mechanics of skill usage that complement each other, deals a lot of damage but has the same disadvantages as other mages. The Templar, on the other hand, is a close-medium distance warrior, specializing in melee combat, with high defense and life, and considerable damage for the defense it possesses. Equipment: Robe, Heavy Armor 2-handed staff, 1-handed sword Sigil or shield High Elf Professions: Weaver (high elf), Templar (high elf). And if I already chose and didn't like it? Every player occasionally encounters situations where they want to change their class for various reasons. And in order not to have to create a new character when you've already invested a lot of time in the one you have, the game has a special Class Change coupon, which allows you to maintain the character's level, but at the same time change their class and gender. Therefore, if you initially chose a mage and realized that you prefer to make it a class more in line with the general trend of the server (like a DK), you can simply change its profession to one more in line with what you want. So, what should I consider when deciding what to choose? Returning to the main question of the guide: what class should I choose? The only thing I can tell you is that there is no wrong answer, each player chooses what they like in many ways: The appearance of the character. The combat style you prefer. The ability to farm and generate resources. How many resources you need to invest in that class. Combat ability for PvP. Dependence on 4* books. Competitiveness of that class in Olympiads. If the class is within the current meta. And many other factors. Therefore, set your goals in the game, and based on these objectives, it will be easier for you to answer the question of "what class am I going to choose?" I hope you enjoy your time here, greetings from Apocalypso, and I wish you great farming!
